
Charles Leonard-Visiting Professor
Professor Leonard (Ph.D., University of Missouri-St. Louis, 1996) joined the SIUC faculty in Fall 2007. He was a faculty member at the University of Texas at Dallas from 2000 to 2007, where he also was director of The Eugene McDermott Scholars Program. He also has been on the faculty of Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.
Professor Leonard has extensive experience as a public opinion researcher, including in directing polls for the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute and prior to that as director of research for Attitude Research Company in St. Louis, Missouri, where he participated in dozens of studies for political, governmental, public policy, educational, and corporate clients. Before returning to graduate school, he was a newspaper and magazine editor in St. Louis.
Leonard teaches courses in American government and public policy.
