It’ll soon be legislative redistricting time again in Illinois. That’s when the state draws the boundaries for districts represented by your elected officials. It’s a highly political process, and a new poll shows the way Illinois does it is unpopular. Redistricting in the state often ends with a name being pulled from a hat. The winner gets to draw the map. WBEZ’s political reporter Sam Hudzik tells us more about the process and its politics.
